Luton Town's hopes of Premier League survival took a major blow as they suffered a 3-1 defeat to West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday.
After a goalless first half, West Ham took control of the match with three goals in the second period. James Ward-Prowse opened the scoring for the Hammers in the 55th minute, with Tomáš Souček doubling their lead just four minutes later. George Earthy sealed the victory with a goal in the 85th minute.
The defeat leaves Luton Town bottom of the Premier League table with just five games remaining. They are now 10 points adrift of safety and will need a miracle to avoid relegation.
West Ham United, meanwhile, moved up to 15th place in the standings with the win. They are now eight points clear of the relegation zone and will be looking to secure their Premier League status with a strong finish to the season.
